If you’re in the market for an inappropriate pet, Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River, Massachusetts, is ready to help.

They’re getting dozens of adoption requests for Hendrix, a 30-year-old blue-and-gold macaw whose colorful plumage is matched only by his R-rated vocabulary.

Surrendered two months ago after 20 years with one owner, the bird arrived half-plucked and malnourished from a diet of cereal and crackers.

Once staff switched him to fruit, veggies, and vet care, Hendrix bounced back and startled workers by hurling perfectly timed curse words across the empty lobby.

Shelter assistant Chantelle Rogers likens the experience to “adopting Samuel L. Jackson” and warns applicants they’ll need thick skin, long lifespans (macaws can live 100 years), and plenty of patience to curb the bird’s salty chatter.
