If you’re going to try and cheat the HOV lane system, go big or go home.

A driver in the HOV lane in Renton, Washington tried to pass off a plaid shirt as a passenger.

A Washington State Patrol trooper wasn’t fooled and stopped the driver.

In Washington, a first-time HOV violation carries a fine of $186, with an extra $200 fine added to the total if the driver is found attempting to disguise a doll or a dummy as a passenger.

The officer posted to social media "Reminder: A seat dressed up like a human still does not count for HOV.”
