Last year, tensions escalated during an episode of College Hill: Celebrity Edition when Amber Rose and Joseline Hernandez clashed over Amber's racial identity. BET released a promo trailer that included footage of their confrontation. Amber stated, “Joseline, stop identifying me. I identify myself and let you know who that is.” In response, Hernandez claimed Amber wished to be "a white girl" and did not want to embrace her Black identity. Shortly afterward, Amber rose from her seat, approached Hernandez, and began to throw punches. At that time, BET opted not to broadcast the fight footage, stating, “Out of respect for all parties involved, we have chosen not to show this fight. College Hill and ASU do not condone violence of any kind.” Recently, however, TMZ acquired uncensored footage of the incident, showing Amber hitting Hernandez multiple times before bystanders intervened. In a statement to TMZ, BET reaffirmed its choice to not air the footage. "We remain steadfast in our decision not to air the footage, as our network does not support violence in any form. Additionally, we hold the HBCU experience in the highest esteem, acknowledging its crucial role in promoting Black excellence and pride in our community," they stated. "In line with these principles, we are firm in our decision to exclude the scene." This incident is not the only one involving Hernandez that has garnered attention.
