Drake Makes It Rain In Toronto For Christmas!

On Christmas this year, Drake handed out large stacks of cash to people in his hometown.

Drake sat in the backseat of a Maybach and casually reached out of the window to hand a person a stack of Canadian 20 dollar bills.

“@Champagnepapi giving away racks for Christmas,” read a video's caption. “Life’s fu**ing unreal man. Legend of the city.”

"You already know," Drake says to the people who thanked him.

The year has been good to Drake as Certified Lover Boy has spent five of eight weeks at #1 on the Billboard Top 200. Young Thug's PUNK knocked CLB back down to #2, but this week, it's all-the-way back.

Certified Lover Boy will become the first rap album to spend five weeks at #1 in 2021. And with "Way 2 Sexy" and "Knife Talk" holding their places on the Top 20, there's no reason to expect a drop off until Adele's 30 releases on November 19.

Drake already made history by debuting nine songs in the top 10 of the Hot 100 chart, making him the first artist to do so in history.

The nine singles pushed Certified Lover Boy past Michael Jackson’s Thriller, Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814, and Drake‘s own Scorpion, who each placed seven singles.

The Top 10 takeover includes the No. 1 single for “Way 2 Sexy”, which tallied 67.3 million streams, and is Drake’s ninth No. 1 single, the third for Young Thug, and is the first for Future.

Rounding out the top five is “Girls Want Girls” featuring Lil Baby, Fair Trade featuring Travis Scott, the album-opening “Champagne Poetry,” and the 21 Savage and Project Pat-assisted “Knife Talk.” Also in the top 10 is “In the Bible” featuring Lil Durk and Giveon, “Papi’s Home,” “TSU” and “Love All” featuring JAY-Z.

Certified Lover Boy will debut with the biggest opening for an album this year surpassing Donda in streams in just three days!

Drake's Certified Lover Boy features appearances from JAY-Z, Lil Wayne, Future, Lil Durk, 21 Savage, Young Thug, Ty Dolla $ign, and Travis Scott across 21 songs.

Earlier this year Drake had 150 different songs streamed over 100 million times across streaming platforms making him the first artist to achieve this in music history!

His most-streamed song, “One Dance,” leads the way with over 2.1 billion. “God’s Plan” comes in at number two with 1.7 billion streams, and “Passionfruit” clocks in just under one billion.

The award winner is determined by analyzing activity on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart and the Billboard 200 albums. Rounding out the top 5 are Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, and Adele.

"I didn't write a grandiose speech about how to make it work or what it took, 'cause to be honest, I don't really understand it myself," Drake went on to admit. "I just know that I've spent an incalculable amount of hours trying to analyze all the things I did wrong, but tonight, for once, I'm sure as hell we did something right."
