Teen Who Can’t Swim Saves Drowning Man At Beach With Family’s Help

Jacksonville, Florida, 17-year-old Brandon Williams recently rescued a man from drowning at Jax Beach with the help of his family. On Saturday evening, Brandon and his father, Kay Williams, along with his younger brothers Zayden and Kyson, were spending time at the beach when Zayden noticed a man struggling in the water and alerted his dad. Although Brandon can’t swim, he immediately ran into the ocean to help the man, later identified as Jeremiah.

Brandon reached Jeremiah and found him unconscious. Due to the strong tides, it was difficult for him to carry the man, but his father rushed into the water to help. Together, they brought Jeremiah out of the water and Kay began tapping him to revive him until paramedics arrived and took over life-saving efforts. The family stayed by Jeremiah’s side throughout the ordeal.

The next day, Kay contacted Jeremiah’s family, who confirmed he was recovering. The Williams family hopes to reunite with Jeremiah at the same beach where they saved him. Kay praised his son’s instinct to act, but Brandon said it felt natural to help someone in need.
