#GoodNews: High School Students Leave Graduation To Put Out Fire

A group of six students from Port Jefferson High School on Long Island went straight from walking across the stage to get their diplomas to heading to put out a fire.

The 17- and 18-year-old students are all volunteers with the Port Jefferson Fire Department and have been “full-fledged” volunteer firefighters for around a year.

The graduates had to miss out on some of the evening’s festivities, but they didn’t mind because it certainly made for a memorable graduation.
