Beyoncé has delayed her highly-anticipated announcement in light of the severe wildfires devastating southern California.

On Monday (January 13), Bey took to Instagram to share that she was postponing her major announcement, scheduled for Tuesday (January 14), amid wildfires that have left at least 24 dead, thousands of structures burned down, and forced roughly 180,000 people to evacuate in the Los Angeles area.

“The January 14th announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles,” Bey wrote.

“I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss,” she continued. “We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community."

The singer urged her followers to support those who have been impacted by the fires by visiting her charity foundation BeyGOOD's website.

In a video shared on December 25, Beyoncé teased the January 14 announcement following her Christmas halftime show during the Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens game on Netflix. The clip showed Bey wearing an all-white outfit while sitting on a white horse and waving a flag.

“Look at that horse,” the Grammy award winner captioned the video.

The decision to postpone the teased announcement came hours after Bey's foundation announced a $2.5 million donation to L.A. relief funds.

In a statement, the BeyGOOD Foundation said the funds were “earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers” due to the wildfires.
