Janet Jackson appeared to reference her controversial Super Bowl halftime performance during her Las Vegas residency, per TMZ.
During Monday's (December 30) performance at Resorts World in Vegas, Jackson donned a black leather bodysuit as a dancer ran his hands over her chest.
Jackson raised her hands above her head during the groping, similar to her controversial moment with Justin Timberlake at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004.
20 years ago, Jackson and Timberlake were performing in Houston, Texas for the Super Bowl halftime show when JT ripped off part of her costume, revealing the singer's right breast and nipple covering.
Jackson's career was temporarily derailed amid scrutiny of the performance. Timberlake remained relatively silent about the incident until he apologized to Jackson in 2021.
The Vegas performance also evoked Jackson's 1993 album cover of Janet. The original cover featured two hands cupping Jackson's breasts from behind with her arms up in the air. The cover was later altered to only show Jackson from the neck up.
