DJ Khaled couldn't contain his excitement after he scored his first-ever Diamond record.
The Miami-based artist received a massive plaque during the closing ceremony of the 2nd annual We The Best Foundation & Jordan Golf Classic at the Miami Beach Golf Club on Thursday, December 5. The certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) confirms his smash hit "I'm The One" featuring Quavo, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne & Chance The Rapper sold over 10 million copies since the second single from his Grateful album dropped in 2017. Khaled had his son Asahd, who appeared on the album cover as an infant, by his side when he got the Diamond plaque.
"This is my first Diamond record," Khaled told the crowd. "Me and my son produced it together."
Prior to the presentation, Khaled had just wrapped up the celebrity golf tournament with his teammates former NBA star Dwyane Wade, country singer Luke Combs, and Olympic champion Michael Phelps. The event began with sounds from DJ Nasty as stars like Scarface, Uncle Luke, Anthony Anderson, Angie Martinez, Mike WiLL Made-It, Jeezy, Jermaine Dupri, Jimmy Butler and more pulled up to the 18-hole golf course. Participants got to play in the tournament and enjoyed several activations from various sponsors including Jordan, Bun B's Trill Burgers, Wendy's, Michael Jordan's Cincoro Tequila, Draft Kings, LIV Miami, Gatorade and more.
Khaled's golf classic is more than just a golf tournament. It's a day full of giving back and inspiring the community. Before the stars hit the green, Khaled, Snipes and the We The Best Foundation presented a check for $25,000 to Fore Life Inc, a non-profit organization based in South Florida that empowers at-risk youth through the game of golf. The "Shining" artist met with some of the kids on the golf course and snapped some photos with them.
"It's all about Miami 305, the community," DJ Khaled told iHeartRadio. "This is all about uplifting the community, giving back to the community, giving back to the kids, inspiring the kids, inspiring the families in need, and us coming together is just amazing man. To do this for the second year — we're going to do this for a trillion years. It don't stop. Another one."
On the night before the tournament, DJ Khaled, the We The Best Foundation and Jordan welcomed their guests during an upscale reception held at Casadonna in Miami. The lavish event attracted a slew of celebrities including N.O.R.E., Memphis Bleek, Ice Spice, model Winnie Harlow, Jeff Hamilton and more.
