The late wrestler and sometime actor “Rowdy Roddy” Piper (1954 – 2015)…he would have been 70. (Born Roderick George Toombs, he was billed as coming from Glasgow and was known for his signature kilt and bagpipe, but he was actually born Canadian – though he was of Scottish heritage. Piper died in his sleep at the age of 61 at his Hollywood home. His death certificate attributed this to cardiopulmonary arrest caused by hypertension, listing a pulmonary embolism as a contributing factor.)

The late journalist Harry Reasoner (1923 – 1991) (Co-founder of CBS-TV’s legendary news magazine “60 Minutes,” he was actually hired away by ABC in 1970 to anchor “ABC Evening News.” He returned to CBS in 1978 and resumed duties on “60 Minutes” until his retirement in May 1991.)
