Tower City Offers Customers Free Parking To Help Support Businesses

Everyone loves finding free parking.

For the next few months, drivers can park for free at Tower City Center’s parking garage in downtown Cleveland in an effort to support local businesses and restaurants, particularly after challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The offer is for shoppers, diners and employees. Free parking lasts up to six hours. A purchase of any amount earns customers and diners a validated ticket when leaving the garage, according to WKYC. Free parking begins Thursday (January 14) and remains in place through March 31, 2021.

Tower City Center offers three levels of shops, restaurants, access to the JACK Cleveland Casino and more.

Ohio remains under a 10 p.m. curfew through at least January 23. The curfew expires the following mornings at 5 a.m.

That means businesses — including shops, restaurants, bars and others — must stop serving customers by 10 p.m.

Gov. Mike DeWine previously explained, however, that the curfew does not apply to anyone going to or from work, or to those needing emergency or medical attention. It’s also not intended to block people from going to grocery stores or pharmacies.

Takeout orders, drive-thru meals and deliveries are still permitted, though a restaurant or bar has to stop serving customers in the establishment by 10 p.m., DeWine said.
