DMX Cancels Shows, Checks Back Into Rehab

2015 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Weekend 2 - Day 1

DMX is continuing to better himself after being released from prison in January. On Saturday (October 12) a member from the rapper's team revealed via Instagram that he was checking into rehab. “In his ongoing commitment to putting family and sobriety first, DMX has checked himself into a rehab facility. He apologizes for his cancelled shows and thanks his fans for their continued support," the statement reads.

This isn't the first time X has sought treatment for substance abuse. In 2017, he canceled a few shows and entered a rehab facility in California. While he was on house arrest for tax evasion that same year, he went to rehab in New England. The 48-year-old was scheduled to perform at a Three 6 Mafia reunion show in Memphis on Saturday and Day 2 of Rolling Loud in New York on Sunday.

DMX has been busy since becoming a free man. Aside from the Three 6 Mafia reunion tour, the rapper also embarked on a 32-date tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his album It's Dark and Hell Is Hot this spring.

His team has yet to reveal where DMX is seeking treatment and when he's expected to return.
